SPITFIRES REMAIN 100%!
Slimbridge Spitfires U10 3 Tythrington YFC U10 0
The Spitfires bounced back from the disappointment of their cup defeat to record their sixth straight league victory over a spirited Tythrington side.
The first half saw almost total Slimbridge pressure, but despite the best efforts of George Mack and Ollie Furneaux, the score remained 0-0 at half time. The Tythrington goal keeper was in inspired form and made a great point blank save from Jordan Hodges.
At the back Ryan Ponting and Ethan wait were rarely troubled.
The second half saw the Spitfires more positive in their passing and they took the lead when Jordan Hodges fed Joe Oliver who made no mistake. Kelvin Hiles had come on in attack and Joe Wilcox in midfield.
The second goal came courtesy of an own goal by Tythrington which gave the keeper no chance.
Ryan Ponting was pushed into midfield as the game went on and he raan through a tired defence to score the third. There was still time for Harry Prescott to make a good save, tipping a long shot over the bar.
Man of the Match went to Jordan Hodges and Kelvin Hiles.
