Slimbridge Spitfires U11’s 3 Wotton Under Edge U11’s 1

Slimbridge overcame a nervy start and a tough Wotton side to remain in contention for the league title.

Wotton started the brighter and went ahead with a long range shot after ten minutes of the first half. This seemed to concentrate the minds of the Spitfires and they started playing some great football. They equalised just before half time when Jordan Hodges slipped the ball past the goalkeeper.

The second half saw Slimbridge on top and starting to play some really great football. Jordan Hodges was in great form and he hit two more great goals to complete a great hat-trick.

The move of the match cam from Slimbridge and Joe Willcox was unlucky to see the final shot come back off the bar.
