SLIMBRIDGE YOUTH TEAM WIN COUNTY AWARD
 
Another success for Slimbridge youth football Club has been confirmed as the Slimbridge under 15 side were presented with the Gloucestershire Football Associations
 
'Youth Fair Play Team of the Season Award' for 2009-2010.
 
The awards ceremony was held at Cheltenham Town Football club on Tuesday the 8th of June and the presentation was made by acting chairman of the FA Mr Roger Burden.
 
The decision to present the award to the Slimbridge U15's team was made following a nomination by the Stroud District Youth league. Mr. D Hoskins who attended on the evening as a representative of the league expressed his congratulations to the team for winning the award and for the high standards they had maintained within the league over the past year.
 
The award of the R. Lethaby Youth Cup, £200 and individual player medallions were presented to team coach Ernie Miles and players Kyle Perkins and Kieren Miles who between them had shared the captaincy of the team throughout the season.
 
Ernie Miles would like to thank  Glenda Lawson who could not attend the presentation, for her committment during the season, but most importantly all of his players who as a team are responsible for this great achievement.
 
The Chairman of Slimbridge Youth Football club Ian Bell said "I am absolutely delighted Ernie Miles and his players have won this award. It is a very special award for Slimbridge YFC and richly deserved".
